2012 Festival Volunteers
Applications will open in February 2012 for the 2012 Snowy Mountains of Music Festival.
The 2012 Perisher Snowy Mountains of Music festival will be looking for a number of volunteers to particicpate in the following tasks:

Festival Office & Information Stall

Performer and Volunteer Office

MC/venue management
-
Transport Management
There will be 2 categories of volunteer
Diamond - 12 hours of volunteering
Gold - 6 hours of volunteering
If you do not want to be a Diamond or Gold Volunteer and you are attending the festival and would like to contribute some hours then please email belinda@snowymountainsofmusic.com.au.
Discounted accommodation is available to Diamond and Gold Volunteers. Details to come shortly.
Applications close 15 May 2012 to allow time for scheduling tasks and communication of schedule.
Diamond Volunteer Benefits
Volunteers who complete 12 hours of volunteer work during the festival from Friday evening to Monday afternoon receive:

Free Long Weekend Pass to the festival, value $135

Gold Volunteer Benefits
Volunteers who complete 6 hours of volunteer work on one day of the festival receive:

Free day pass to the festival on the day of volunteering, value of $70 or are able to purchase a Long Weekend Festival Pass for $65

Task descriptions
-
Venue Management - manage artists, stage, sound at the 11 venues around the festival. The venue manager ensures performances are on time and happen smoothly! They need to liaise with Venue Operator, MC, Sound Operators and Venue Control volunteers

Festival Office and Festival Information - assist with selling of Festival passes, souvenir programs, merchandise, provide information. The Festival Office will be in the Perisher Valley Ski Tube Terminal. There will be a Festival Information location at the Perisher Centre.

Venue Control - be at venue entry points and check patrons have Festival armbands for entry. They will also sell Festival passes and provide information to patrons. They will liaise with Venue Manager and Venue Operator.

Performer and Volunteer Office - register performers and volunteers. Assist with management of performers and volunteers.

MC / Venue Manage - Introduce acts and make announcements to the audience. They will liaise with Venue Manager, Venue Operator, Venue Control and Sound Operator. The MC will also venue manage in the smaller venues.volunteers.

Transport Management - Assist with transport arranging during the festival for performers and patrons. It will include monitoring of the transport, signage maintenance, collection of transport requests and liaising with the transport operators.
Festival Volunteer Code of Conduct
As a volunteer at the Perisher Snowy Mountains of Music Festival, they will contribute to the success of the Festival by:

Exhibiting at all times a positive and friendly approach with the purpose of ensuring Festival attendees and volunteers have an enjoyable and memorable experience

Promoting the Festival at all times as a fun, interesting and diverse event

Acknowledging the importance of our individual contributions to the total effort involved in providing a happy and comfortable, yet safe and structured environment

Always demonstrating the volunteer ethic by being mindful of situations requiring attention or resolution. This may involve alerting the delegated control points (injury, illness, missing armbands, unacceptable behaviour) or resolving the issue on the spot (ad hoc rubbish removal)

Respecting and assisting each other to the best of our ability

Respecting all people we come in contact with regardless of their race, religion, colour or age

Following OH&S practices and policies

Ensuring we are not under the effects of drugs or alcohol while volunteering
Terms of Agreement

I agree to abide by the Code of Conduct

I agree to carry out my volunteer tasks according to the rostered hours

I agree to contact the Volunteer Co-ordinator as early as possible if circumstances prevent my commencing a shift
-
If I breach the Code of Conduct, I acknowledge I may be relieved of my duties and escorted from the site. Such conduct may also result in denial of future volunteer applications.
