Tips for Festival Goers

Festival Reception and Ticket Centre
It will be situated in the Ski Tube Terminal Centre at Perisher Valley. This is where you purchase tickets or exchange your pre-purchased ticket voucher for an armband, please wear it at all times! Adjacent to the centre is the registration area for Performers and Volunteers. An EFTPOS facility for cash-out is available at the Centre.

How to get a ticket and enter the venues
Tickets are purchased from the Reception Centre and are exchanged for a coloured wristband. The wristband is then displayed at the entry points to festival venues.

Entering the Kosciuszko National Park
The festival is located in the Kosciuszko National Park. For those driving in with a car you get a special of 3 Days for the price of 2 for $34. Click here for more information on the Park
Festival Shop
It will be located in the Post Office in the Perisher Valley Skitube Terminal Performer and Festival merchandise such as recordings, Festival T-shirts and other products are available here.

Festival Volunteering
The Festival will use a number of volunteers who will appreciate the odd helping hand and thank you! If you can also volunteer a few hours work then please see the wonderful folk in the Volunteer Registration area in the Perisher Valley Skitube Terminal. Click here to become a Festival Volunteer
Children
The Festival aims to provide a safe environment for families. Parents and guardians are responsible for their children at all times. The Perisher Centre is the kids entertainment venue and not a child minding facility so carers are asked to stay with their children.
Late Night Partying
Some venues will be open late for sessions and parties. Please keep noise to a minimum when returning to your accommodation.
No Smoking In Venues
In consideration of the comfort and safety of all festival goers there is a no smoking policy in all venues.

Friday - concerts from 5,30pm at Smiggins Hotel, Sundeck Hotel
Saturday - Blessing of the Snow 10am, Festival Opening, then concerts until Midnight in all venues. Around 50 concerts to choose from. Kids Festival starts at 10am.
Sunday - Day starts with Poets Brunch, then concerts from Midday to Midnight in all venues. Around 50 concerts to choose from. Kids Festival starts at 10am.
Monday - Day starts with Poets Brunch, then concerts at Smiggins Hotel, Sundeck Hotel. Finale Concert at Smiggins Hotel and the final party!

Consider taking the Ski Tube from Bullocks Flat if road conditions are unfavourable - snow chains not required.

When is the Early Bird Long Weekend Festival Pass deadline?
The deadline is May 15th 2011. Purchase your tickets before May 7 for maximum savings. Click here to buy online or call 1300 811 324.
When is the programme announced?
The full list of performers will been as the come-to-hand. Click here to see the list. The full programme should be out by the end of April 2011.
Can I buy a ticket for just one concert?
No. Only day, evening and season passes are available. Click here to see the pricing.
Where can I stay?
Click here for a full list of Festival package bed and breakfast options. There are great value packages starting at $99 in a number of festival venues. Camping and caravan options are available in Jindabyne 30km away.
Where can I park?
There is plenty of parking in Perisher Valley near the Ski Tube Terminal and Smiggin Holes. Don't forget that 2WD cars must carry snowchains in the National Park. There is plenty of parking at the Bullocks Flat Skitube terminal for those using the Skitube.
Can I come just for one day?
Yes. You can purchase tickets for Friday evening, Saturday , Sunday or Monday only.
What should I wear?
Remember it is "Australia's Coolest Festival". Nighttime temperatures will be below zero and daytime not much warmer. All festival venues are indoors but you will need warm clothing and waterproof footwear for getting between venues. Bring waterproof shoes or boots.
How do I get between venues?
It is only a short walk between some venues. For longer distances there will be a free shuttle - hopefully over snow!
Will there be skiing?
Snow conditions can be unpredictable at the beginning of the season. However the Perisher Resort starts snowmaking in late May so there is usually enough for some skiing on the Front Valley.
Can I buy food at the festival?
Yes. There are a variety of food outlets in the resorts.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No. All venues are licensed.
Can children go into venues?
Most venues allow children when accompanied by an adult.
