FAMILY FUN AT THE
PERISHER SNOWY MOUNTAINS MUSIC

The Perisher Snowy Mountains of Music is cooking up a storm for the June Long Weekend for the young and young at heart. With a dedicated kids stage and 18 music, drumming, storytelling and song sessions scheduled for kids - plus the promise of snow - it might just be the best holiday ever!

This year the festival has a special Family Fun Day Ticket and for just $49 on Saturday or Sunday between 9am and 5pm a parent can get:

  • entry to all venues and to the Kids Stage at the Ski Tube Terminal

  • entry to all music workshops at the Smiggins Hotel Basement

  • a free ride on the Perisher Quad Express

For families who want to attend the festival from Friday to Monday the news is good - children under 15 are free with a paying adult.

What is happening at the KID'S STAGE?

Get loud with renowned children’s performer and multi-instrumentalist Brett Campbell. With the help of a guitar, ukulele, mandobanjo, harmonica, kazoo and an assortment of funny noises Brett Campbell will introduce the little and big to the wonder of live music.

Don’t miss The Messups Puppets who have been entertaining families for over 20 years throughout Australia and overseas. The Messups Puppets show isn't a ‘sit down and watch’ show, it's a ‘get up and join in’ show with no yawning allowed!

Light the lamps and pull up a cushion for some chill-out time when Lillian Pang takes your children on wonderful journeys to faraway places. Clap, dance, sing, creep and giggle in these very special storytelling sessions.

The festival has lots of fun workshops planned – it’s a great opportunity to make your own instrument, get drumming, tune up your vocal chords with some of our top artists and learn some Indigenous stories, didj playing and songs.

Perisher is THE place to be on the opening of the snow season this year, with the festival showcasing over 35 bands and 130 concerts from Friday 8th to Monday 11th June. Cranking it up will be Ash Grunwald, Christine Anu, Dallas Frasca, The Sunny Cowgirls, Marshall and the Fro, Skipping Girl Vinegar, Afro Mandinko, The Woo Hoo Revue, Eric Bogle and more. There’s something for everyone with a potent brew of blues, roots, world, folk, celtic and gypsy to choose from, at 10 venues across Perisher and Smiggins.

With super early bird long weekend passes from only $99 til the 29th Feb 2012 and some fantastic on-snow bed and breakfast accommodation and festival packages from $299, this is one very affordable festival. Perisher Snowy Mountains of Music Festival pass holders are also entitled to a special three day lift ticket at the discounted price of $99 (Children $55) if purchased by 30 May.

Make sure you don’t miss the 2012 Perisher Snowy Mountains of Music – the only music festival in Australia in the snow.
